May Day

Selene’s (Dragonsspine’s) UNOFFICIAL Unofficial May Day Event A.S. LII
(SUNDAY, MAY 20, 2018)

Greetings, All, to welcome the Middle of Spring. This is a day of fun and happiness (think of the play/movie ‘Camelot’) in the ‘lusty month of May’, as the tune goes. The Event is FREE, hence there is no non-member fee. HOWEVER, for the sanity of the S.C.A., all attendees are requested to sign on a provided list for attendees.

We will have a maypole and music, martial contests, children’s activities (a parent must be in attendance), a pot luck lunch and more. The pot luck will be as you like it (and bring it). You should also plan on you own (non-alcoholic) liquid refreshment. Following their Excellencies’ Court, Lord Turlough (the Knight Marshall), Lord Antoine (the Master of Fencing), and Milord Bernard (the Archery Master) have agreed to organize tournaments. There is an archery area is nearby. These will be considered organized training/practice sessions. The winner of each of the three contests and his/her consort will be the King and/or Queen of May. Master Duncan has agreed to be the Master of the Lists.

Directions: North or South – Take I-25 to Colorado Springs. Use Exit 141 West (a.k.a. U.S. 24 W). Go 1.5 miles and turn LEFT (South) on 21st Street. After 1.4 miles, turn RIGHT (West) on Argus. Go .2 (2 tenths) of a mile and turn RIGHT into Bear Creek Park. Look for the SCA on the left.
